Message from the Fire Chief

Welcome from Fire Chief Brita Horn

The Rock Creek Volunteer Fire Department is proud to serve the residents and visitors of the McCoy, Bond, Copper Spur, State Bridge, Rancho Del Rio, Sheephorn and part of Burns community. With the leadership and support of the Board of Directors, The Rock Creek Volunteer Fire Department has worked to expand the service we provide to meet the traditional needs of our rural Western Slope community.

In addition to the internal fire and emergency medical services training we provide to every firefighter, we are constantly seeking opportunities to increase our knowledge base with hazardous materials, water rescue, electric vehicles, railroad, and wildfire training. This hands-on training rewards us with the ability to provide effective responses that are optimally safe for both firefighters and citizens alike.

We continue our commitment to safety by offering an annual Ready, Set Go program each spring to educate neighbors how to have their property cleared of any debris that might be a hazard during wildfire season. We also visit our precious senior citizens when requested to provide a health check up and monitor their vital signs.

On behalf of the men and women of the Rock Creek Volunteer Fire Department, I invite you to browse through our Website to familiarize yourself with the services we provide. We take great pride in our rural community and are committed to doing our part to keep it the safest place to live.

Sincerely,
Brita Horn, Chief
Rock Creek Volunteer Fire Department
